About
In May 1994, Nanette Amis founded the Utah Art Market to bring affordable arts and crafts to the Salt Lake community. Initially a once-a-year event, it has since grown into six seasonal events annually, each featuring unique pieces inspired by the time of year.
As the Art Market expanded, it became clear that there was a growing demand for handmade items year-round. This realization led to the opening of Four Lemons in October 2024 — a full-time retail and art gallery that provides a permanent platform for both local and global artists to showcase their talents.
The name Four Lemons has a special origin. It comes from Nanette’s very first piece of original art: a still-life painting of four lemons on a windowsill by Rebecca Waggstaff. This piece represents so much more than a start to a life-time collection of art for Nanette. She received this piece at a time when original art seemed financially out of reach. It also embodies the mission of Four Lemons: to make art accessible to everyone.
Four Lemons offers a wide variety of handmade works, including fine art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, and more. Meanwhile, the Utah Art Market will continue its seasonal shows across the valley, providing emerging artists with an opportunity to share and sell their creations.
